Employees also put together virtual packages

Donations were collected again, coffee tills plundered, bought together according to the packing list and then packed: a total of 454 parcels were collected, which have now been handed over to the Johanniter Christmas printer donation campaign.

For the 17th time in a row, the works council at the Schaeffler site in Herzogenaurach organized the relief effort. “We counted 312 real parcels. There are also 142 virtual parcels. With this donation, staple food, hygiene articles, but also toys for children and sweets will be procured centrally ”, says works council Norbert Lamm, one of the organizers. The company again provided support with standardized cardboard boxes, storage rooms, pallets or the forklift. In addition, the plant and personnel management at the Herzogenaurach site donated another 1,000 euros in fuel money for the Christmas truck.

Due to the pandemic, the loaded trucks will not be traveling in a convoy to Eastern Europe. As in the previous year, the Christmas trucks from several haulage companies drive to destinations such as Romania, Bosnia, Albania and the Ukraine. On site, the Johanniter work together with long-term partners and aid organizations to distribute the food.
